Switch-ed

After five frenzied workdays, what better way to start the weekend than with good food and a live band?

It was my first time @ Switch: by Timbre (located beside the Singapore Art Museum). Went with a friend at around 9pm; the place was packed and we had to wait a good half an hour to get a seat.

In the queue, we got were pondering on what is it that makes the timbre bars so popular that people are willing to wait to get in. Personally, I would have preferred a quieter, less crowded bar.

But I was switch-ed when the food was served and the band got going. The pizza was surprisingly good, the band was dynamic and the atmosphere was infectious. The band belted a good mix of genre from english to mandarin popular hits from the past and present.

The highlight, for me, was when the band gave a rendition of the current music bar anthem, "We are Young"; the people sang along to the chorus, teeming with youthful energy and power induced by the lyrics.

Tonight, we are young
so let's set the world on fire
we can burn brighter than the sun
