No. of hours spent on the guitar per week: (Sky) Whenever time permits; (Elizabeth) Whenever Sky is back from his flight, we would spend ~2-3 hours during his off days to sing and do covers together. If not, I would play for an hour or two on my own during my me-time too.
Guitar/ music qualifications: We do not have any qualifications in particular but we simply love singing and playing the guitar.
Gig/ competition experience: (Sky) My army mate and I performed at our army ORD ceremony! Awesome experience! (Elizabeth) At the age of 16, I was given the opportunity to join the music ministry in church youth fellowship as guitarist for praise and worship. It was a fruitful and fun exposure! At the age of 18, I remember forming a jamming team with a few of my Japanese friends and I was the bass guitarist. Great experience but realised I love acoustic and classical more!

How did you get acquainted with guitar playing?
(Sky) It interest me after seeing people perform with the ability to sing and strum the guitar at the same time! So it inspired me!
(Elizabeth) My hero dad is a guitarist himself since his younger days till now. He is now 55 years old. When growing up, he has always been a role model to me so I would say he is the greatest influencer for me to learn play the guitar! :)
Describe your first experience playing on a guitar.
(Sky) It was a nerve wreaking one! While waiting for enlistment into the army, my secondary school friend - Kenneth taught me the basic chords progression to play songs!
(Elizabeth) First strumming experience, I got scolded by my dad! Haha! He was teaching me how to play the basic chords and strum but somehow I just couldn't coordinate both of my hands to play the melody. My beats were off very badly and some of the tunes of the chords I played just couldn't strum smoothly. For my first plucking experience, my right hand went numb from practicing the fingering pattern of p,i,m,a. I will never forget the pain on my fingers when I first played the guitar too! No pain, no gain!
What is the best thing about being a guitarist?
(Sky) Personal satisfaction!
(Elizabeth) The joy of playing the guitar and leading everyone around you to sing together! Basically, having fun together at the end of it is the best thing ever!
Describe your most memorable guitar-related incident.
(Sky) When I first courted Elizabeth, I went to her home to visit her and realised she loves playing the guitar too. So I took the guitar and started playing it while Elizabeth sang along. Then, her dad who is also a guitarist himself sat next to me and listened. I felt pressurised at that point of time but I'm glad I've won my future Father-in-law's heart! The key to win my current Fiancée's heart too!
(Elizabeth) My late grandma loved to hear me sing and play on my guitar whenever I visited her. I still remember her favourite Christian song 爱，我愿意 (Love, I am willing). During her funeral, I remember playing the guitar with my cousin - Kenneth and we led the rest of our cousins to sing together as a dedication to my late grandma.
Another memorable incident, it was the incident which Sky has described as above. Haha! I'm blessed that the two important man in my life (my dad and Fiancé) enjoys playing the guitar together with me!
How many guitars do you currently own?
(Sky) One. SX Custom Guitars DG1K/II/BK.
(Elizabeth) I've got two. My first guitar Yamaha CS-101 C and another is Fina FC-1020.
If your house is on fire, which one would you run out with? Why?
(Sky) My one and only 小黑 (blacky) guitar!
(Elizabeth) I will just run for my life and save my family first. The rest I would think about it later I guess. Haha! But if I have to choose one, I would definitely run out with the first guitar which my dad got for me on my birthday!
First guitar: (Sky) SX Custom Guitars DG1K/II/BK. I can't really remember but it was before I enlist for National Service.
(Elizabeth) Yamaha CS-101 C. I got it on my 13th birthday! Year 2001 :)
Favourite guitar brand/ model: No particular brands or models. Every guitars have its own beautiful tunes!
Favourite guitarist: (Sky) 阿沁 from FIR!
(Elizabeth) Oh dear, I have quite a few! 徐佳莹, 戴佩妮, Bernard from Chords Haven (Admin Note: *goes into coughing fit*) and of course my hero dad and Fiancé!
First song you learned to play on guitar: (Sky) Zombie with chords E,C,G & D! :)
(Elizabeth) Happy Birthday! Haha!
Song you love to play most on guitar: (Sky) No particular song. As long as there are songs I like, I'll play it.
(Elizabeth) Romance De Amor. The first classical piece I fell in love with!
Most difficult song you have played on guitar: (Sky) Any songs associated with fret chords. :(
(Elizabeth) Songs with E/G# haha! Still trying to perfect the tune of this chord whenever I play.
Tips for aspiring guitarists: (Sky) Never give up!
(Elizabeth) I always believe music heals the heart! So play the guitar to lift up the spirits of others and yourself!
